My time as a graphic designer has given me the experience in successfully handling adversity, the love for design challenges, and the ability to learn on the fly. My time away from graphic design has made me more customer service oriented as well as hungry for more design work.  My resume is listed below:

WORK EXPERIENCE

ShelfGenie Franchise Systems, Marietta, GA                                                   2011 - 2013
The industry leader in custom designed, built and installed Glide-Out shelving solutions for any existing cabinet in the home.

 

Production Artist
Assists Graphic Designer with ad creation and marketing efforts for multiple media markets nationwide for growing, franchise-based, home improvement company.

  • Helped create over 200 newspaper and specialty ads per month for multiple markets

  • Created and designed monthly corporate e-newsletter, The Top Shelf

  • Developed PowerPoint presentation slides for annual corporate conference

  • Designed numerous trade show collateral pieces and signage

  • Updated franchisee website pages

  • Edited corporate videos for social media

 

Kennesaw State University, Kennesaw, GA                                                     2004 - 2009
The College of Continuing Education and Professional Education has offered over 2,500 classes and programs to nearly 23,000 students, as well as awarded certificates to 400 graduates of certificate programs, including healthcare, project management, human resources, paralegal, management, meeting and event planning, technical writing, and web design.

 

Marketing Specialist
Responsible for the concept, design, and production of all marketing support materials for the Continuing Education division, including print ads, direct mail pieces, and some website graphics; noteworthy projects including a 64 page quarterly course catalog and 100+ page program for national conferences.

  • Contributed to a nationally award-winning marketing team for excellence in design, concept, and functionality

  • Participated in quarterly meetings to determine advertising and creative strategy

  • Developed relationships with vendors to facilitate timely and high quality production of advertising materials

  • Involved in team-building workshops and seminars

 

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Marietta, GA                                              2001 - 2003

With its 1.4 million weekly readers in print, The AJC weekly newspaper offers the leading print medium in the Southeast, and an extensive array of targeted advertorial supplements. Each offers engaged readers who look upon these publications as much for their advertising as for award-winning news and editorial.

 

Graphic Artist
Along with five other designers, was responsible for all ad content produced for the newspaper in satellite office.

  • Designed print ads, direct mail inserts, 4-page tabs, sales fliers in both b/w and color

  • Collaborated with vendors and awarded sole design responsibility for restaurant chain's ad schedule

  • Generated a total of $1.1 million in advertising revenue from 1,251 ads produced from 6/2002 through 6/2003
